We’re back from an incredible few days at Seafood Expo Global 2025 in Barcelona, where Ocean Fish proudly represented the UK seafood industry. From our roots in Cornwall to global seafood exports, the event was a fantastic opportunity to share our history, our people, and our commitment to responsible sourcing.
The buzz of Barcelona’s expo halls hit us the moment we arrived. It was an electric melting pot of innovation, tradition, and global ambition, all under one roof. Among hundreds of seafood brands from around the world, Ocean Fish stood proudly as a voice for British seafood, ready to share our story with the world.
British Seafood and Responsible Sourcing
At Stand 2I601 in Hall 2, our team welcomed visitors from across the globe. We shared how Ocean Fish blends generations of family fishing heritage with modern supply solutions, supporting both UK wholesale and international seafood markets. Our focus remains delivering high-quality British seafood with full traceability, strong partnerships, and responsible practices throughout the supply chain.
Our stand became a hive of activity, with chefs, buyers, and fellow producers drawn in by our passion for responsible sourcing and our deep-rooted family values. “It was humbling to see the Ocean Fish name next to global industry giants,” said Colin Langley, Wholesale Sales Export Director. “We had some truly powerful conversations about responsible sourcing and heritage values that matter now more than ever.”
Meaningful Connections in Barcelona
One of the standout moments of the three-day event was connecting with foodservice buyers, seafood retailers, and industry voices including Emily De Souza, a fisheries scientist and digital strategist known for her work in transparent, authentic seafood storytelling. These valuable conversations reinforced the importance of transparency, responsible sourcing, and long-term trust in today’s global seafood industry.
Another highlight for us was taking part in the Women in Fishing event, a celebration of the vital roles women play across the industry. “It was great to get involved,” said Victoria Townsend, Commercial Director. “The energy and connection in the room were a reminder of how far we’ve come, and how much more there is to do.”
